Black Creek District Cub Scout Day Camp.

 

Black Creek District Cub Scout Day Camp is the largest Day Camp in North Florida Council, BSA. It host’s over 300 cub scouts and 200 volunteers.  The camp is conducted at Camp Echockotee in Orange Park, FL.  Camp Echockotee is a 69 acre camp operated by North Florida Council, BSA on Doctor’s Lake in Orange Park, FL for over 85 years.  The day camp has been in existence for over 20 years. 

 

The camp is manned by volunteers.  The volunteers are Adults and youths from the Clay and Duval county scouting community.  They are the parents, grandparents, brothers, or sisters of the Day Camp cub scouts.  They receive day camp training prior to camp along with youth protection training. 

 

 

The Directors of the camp are volunteers that enjoy providing a sound and solid Cub Scout program.  They also are required to complete BSA National Camp School Day Camp Director Course.  Each camp must have 2 directors (Camp Director, Camp Program Director) that have completed the school.  An Aquatics Director is required for any camp on BSA property to conduct aquatics activities.  The Aquatics Director is a BSA Lifeguard and has completed Aquatics Director School.
